News December 2024
10th of December, 2024
Every year we are given a sack of daffodils by Chorley Borough Council’s “Streetscene” department to plant around the parish. You may have noticed a good show this last spring around the benches at the end of Lydiate Lane and Shady Lane/Wigan Road.
This year we had a dilemma, partly to do with the awful weather but mainly to do with trying to chose where to plant them, given we are such a small parish and not wanting to disturb the existing areas. Anyway, the decision was made to divide them up amongst all the parishioners so we can all share in those first rays of sunshine that spring will bring! You will find them being delivered to your door in the next few days and we hope you can find a pot or border to put them in, ready for a good show next spring.
We would be grateful for any feedback. If anyone has a suitable plot of land with room for daffodils and can give permission to plant up (especially street facing so that everyone can benefit) please let us know and we will consider these areas next year.
